Seattle to Alaska
I was born and raised in the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Seattle, Washington and attended Garfield High, graduating in 2009. A desire to study the natural environment and to get out of the big city led me to Western Washington University in order to pursue a BS degree in Environmental Toxicology with a minor in Chemistry. Upon graduation in 2013 I accepted a job offer as a Veterinary Technician working for a Veterinary Pathologist in Anchorage, Alaska. Beginning June of 2015 I changed career directions in order to pursue another life-long interest: teaching. Currently, I live, work, and play in Anchorage with an anticipated graduation from the University of Alaska Southeast this coming May of 2016 with a MAT degree and teaching certification. I am excited to see what the future holds.
One of my biggest passions in life is running. I competed for cross country and track teams all throughout my education and for the past two years in Alaska I have been an assistant coach at West Anchorage High School. It was my pleasure to be a part of the coaching staff for the 2014 Girls 4A Alaska State Champions and the 2015 Boys 4A Alaska State Champions in Cross country. I spend most of my free time running in the Chugachs and exploring the natural wonder of Alaska.
I also intensely enjoy music, videography, skateboarding, food, reading, coffee, and beer.
